Troubleshooting Drager Babylog 5000 Ventilator to GE Solar 8000i

Troubleshooting Drager Babylog 5000 Ventilator to GE Solar 8000i Monitor

Case 1: “Connect Vent Cable” displayed in vent parameter box

Solution: Assure cable from and to TIA Interface is secure to vent RS232 connector in back of unit.

Disconnect the cable from the vent and reconnect it to clear the error message.

Case 2: “Alarm” displayed in vent parameter, but there is no alarm condition on the ventilator.

Solution: Locate the connector with a square wave symbol on the back of the ventilator. A thin black cable should be connected to it. The other end should be connected to the TIA. Disconnect the cable from the ventilator and reconnect it to clear the alarm message.

Case 3: Vent parameter box does not display on monitor screen.

Solution: Locate cable connected to the bottom of the TIA. Connect the other end of the cable to the TramNet port (RAC4). If cable is already connected or it does not solve the problem, power cycle the Solar 8000i off. Then all parameters plus the ventilator will come up on the screen.

All fails: Check ventilator communication settings to the following:

Baud rate: 9600
Analog1: FLOW
Analog2: PAW
Square wave: ALARM
